The work in this exhibition hovers between drawing and sculpture, movement and stillness, figure and ground, permanent and ephemeral, desire and denial. The spaces ‘in between’ have been an enduring interest and motivation for most of my work. For me, making art is about being present and located in the world in a tangible, concrete way. When I’m making art, I belong in the world, and the thing I’m making becomes a marker of my place. Making this work has actualized my interest in ‘Between’ in new ways. The work here exists in ‘Between’, having been formed and informed by things above and things below.
